Megastar 2.0 Report

Last night was the show at the Pepsi Center here in Denver, and I gotta say that I was a tad disappointed. Not surprisingly, the tour show is much more Vegas, than it is Chicago, Ney York, or Boston.

Elements borrowed from other shows include:

√ all of the "Rock Concert Movement" series
√ the audience "Gut Cam"
√ marshmallow sculpture
√ confetti and streamer cannons
√ mouth paint spray painting
√ many songs and videos from The Complex
√ rock song tributes (Devo, Madonna, Ozzy)

One highlight was that once the rock song tribute started, I knew how it ended, so after they played "Crazy Train", I yelled out "Freebird!!!" A couple of people told me to shut up, until they saw what happened on stage.

There were a couple of new elements that they added: more Rock Concert Movement #'s, having an audience member read the band member names at the end, the whole text messaging thing, and one or two new videos.

It was also nice to see Tracy Bonham play a short opening set. I'm still curious about how she hooked up with BMG though.

Alrighty, that's my report.

Next stop ... TORONTO!

Hey guys, I know Blue Man has been oddly silent lately but there's still alot going on in the world of Blue. The new venue in Canada just opened last month and the Berlin Venue opened earlier this year. Word is there's going to be a permanent show in London as well as Tokyo in the next year or so....

The Live At Luxor show will end it's 5 year run this October when the Blue Man Group will change venues to the Venetian Resort. The new theater is larger and the show is being updated with alot of new material. Hmmm let's see, what else. Oh! Tracy Bonham just released her new album, pop on over to her website to check it out.

there's a few fan meets this year, I'll be attending the Vegas one, it's the last meet before the venue change and the hush hush is there's to be a back stage tour and Q&A with the performers. We've done this quite a few times in the past, but this year is going to be a good one...

For all the news and latest info on BMG, check out the Blue Man Library... http://bluemanlibrary.com/ there's interviews from band members in the "Band Spotlight" section as well as interviews with Blue Men from all the different venues in the "Beyond The Blue" section. The library is huge and contains thousands of fan pics, videos, all the Jay Leno appearances in downloadable formats.. waaaay too much to list. Git yer blue butts on over there and have some fun!

Hi, I'm new to the tribe but not new to being a fan of the blue guys! I got to see the Vegas show last weekend and I have some pictures of me with the guys and the band. Would it be ok if I uploaded them into the community album?

It was such an amazing show that I am still buzzing from it! It was very hard for me to stop myself from getting up and dancing, haha. Anyone who gets the chance MUST GO SEE THEM!! It alone is worth the trip to Vegas!!!

...and I can't help myself....there is something oddly attractive about a silent man covered in grease paint, heh. ;)

I've seen them twice in Boston
It's been over 5 years since so I was wondering if the stage show has changed any there since?
